The mission of Surgical Technology is to provide the necessary theory and clinical instruction for the student to become a knowledgeable member of the surgical team. Program instruction is provided through classroom lecture and discussion, laboratory demonstration and practice, and clinical experience and assignments. Through affiliated facilities, students are exposed to the latest techniques in a variety of surgical procedures and specialties.

Surgical Technology is a three trimester, 1296 hour course, divided between classroom and clinical experience. Applications are only available at the Mandatory Information Session which is held once a year in September.  You MUST be at this session to apply. To receive an information / reminder letter on the next session you can submit a request form.  High school diploma or the equivalent and a passing score on the Nurse Entrance Test (NET) are required for admission to the Surgical Technology program. Graduates of the program will receive a Surgical Technologist Diploma. Graduates will be encouraged to sit for the national Surgical Technologists Certification Exam. Surgical Technologists who successfully pass the national exam, administered by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologists, are called Certified Surgical Technologists or CST.
