TTC Hohenwald Students Attend SkillsUSA Tennessee State Conference and Skill Competition
Fifteen students from TTC Hohenwald went to Chattanooga, TN, on April 23-25, 2012 as delegates and competitors at the 7th Annual SkillsUSA Tennessee Postsecondary State Conference.
During their stay, the students participated as voting delegates conducting the business of their organization, meet with business and industry representatives and heard from Executive Director Tim Lawrence.
TTC Hohenwald's students participated in twelve contests represented by fifteen students. Medalists include: Gold Medical Terminology – Shannon Luther; Silver Nurse Assisting – Marisa Conneuil; Silver Practical Nursing – Autumn Risner; Silver Prepared Speech – Josefina Medina; Silver Cosmetology – Yolanda Villanueva; Silver Mechatronics – Tommy Ardry & Terry Stutts; Silver Job Skill Demonstration A – Amanda Smith & Kai Hippler; Bronze Electronics Technology – Chet Brown; Bronze Nail Care – Kaitlyn Williams & Kerra Inman; Bronze Medical Math – Jeremy Hensley. SkillsUSA programs also help to establish industry standards for job skill training in the classroom.
