Karissa will go on to compete against other TTC students in a statewide event sponsored by the Tennessee Board of Regents. This event is held to select a student ambassador for technical education among nominees from each of the 27 technology centers in Tennessee. During the selection process, students deliver their speech to describe how technical education has impacted their life to local business and industry representatives. The Outstanding Student of the Year program seeks to spotlight the importance of technical education in today's world of work and to recognize outstanding achievement, character and leadership by students attending Tennessee Technology Centers.
